At the bottom lies a small chamber with shelves for reliquaries and one central niche cut to hold a divided object. Dust outlines where that object once rested. Beneath the niche, half hidden in collapsed cloth, lies the thing itself.
It is a bronze and enamel seal split neatly into two interlocking halves.
